| Four months since my last entry. Sorry for any of you breathlessly awaiting an update from me. What's new? Well the family and I went to Disney back in October. That was a lot of fun (except for getting a little sick from minor flu). I'm coaching my daughter Abbie's Upward basketball team. We had our first game yesterday. We lost, but the kids had a blast. So did I. So here's the best news of all. I just got a new motorcycle!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm soooooo excited. It's SSSSSSWWWWWEET!!! I haven't had a bike since I was a teenager. Now I've got learn to ride all over again. When I get a clear day outside I'll snap some pics, but this spring you'll see me on it at church all the time. I'll see ya'll!! | | |
| Well, It looks like the problem with the PC was a bad power supply. We seem to be running smooth as a whistle now. I've had an invader in my life lately. A godly man ( a Nazarene pastor) who just kinda appeared on the scene in my office a couple weeks ago and has been shaking up my world. This is a guy who has got tons of cool visions from God and is radically commiting himslef to seeing them realized. He is leaving his own pastorate to work on these ministries full time. Somehow he has connected with me and is wanting me to join him in launching two of these new ministries. I gotta tell you, I'm a little scared. It's definitely a long story, but it seems God is offering at least three awesome opportunities, two of which are seemingly in conflct with one another. Now my head is spinning because the two opportunities that are in conflict are in line with some desires of my heart. I usually have pretty good discernment about what to dive into and what to stay away from. But right now I'm kinda lost in all of it. It's a good kind of lost though. I'll keep you posted as I get clarity. Pray for me! | | |
| Massive problems with the old PC!! It's now the third trip to the CPU ICU. So we bought a laptop. Soon I hope to be wireless. SO what's been happening the last month or so? A LOT! Too much to post right now, I'll hopefully update soon and tell ya all about it. Just wanted you to know I was still alive. God Bless ya'll! | | |
| Here's an update...
The Ironhorse Train Pull went very well. The event raised over $7,000 for the Partnership for Youth. Thanks to all the mighty Aldersgate Warriors who showed up and took up the challenge! We were the slowest team (but also the smallest in number and possibly size). And, althought there is some controversy, I believe the engineer inadvertantly left the brake on during our final pull. The train didn't budge. Not an inch! Even after we had just pulled it twice. Oh well. It was fun and for a very good cause.
In other news, we made it to the finals of the Blues Royale Competition in St. Louis last night and lost by .03 points! We came in second although almost every musician there said they thought we won it. However, although I think it was rigged, I'm happy it turned out the way it did. The winner was this older lady with a great blues voice (her band was horrible) but we learned at the end of the night that she is recovering from lung cancer and was bedridden until just a few months ago. She was very sweet and gracious. And after she won, she did something very cool, she thanked Jesus Christ for her recovery and victory and then sang "His Eye is On the Sparrow" a cappella. Plus we met another great guitarist who after about five minutes asked if we were Christians. He is one of us and was very encouraging. He and I spent one whole break talking about Jesus and looking forward to heaven. The boys played the best I've ever heard them. It was really a great night.
Well, just got the computer back after a nasty infection of spyware and hijackers. It's one of the reasons I haven't posted in a while. But I'll be more regular I promise!! | | |
